Pay Scale: Shop $15.00 DOE / License CONSTRUCTION DIVISION WAGES ARE AS FOLLOWS On the Job - Davis Bacon Labor/Operator +/- $25.80 $49.25 On the Job - Non Davis Bacon Labor/Operator +/- $16.00 $24.00

Drivers License: Drivers License and insurable driver record are required for this position. CDL / Ability to obtain CDL preferred. Travel Pay: Transportation is provided to and from the jobsite Ride pay is based on one-way travel Drive pay is based on two-way travel No travel pay without valid drivers license All overnight accommodations are provided

Season: Start up is generally April Shutdown is generally November

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes but is not limited to

  • Performs duties related to the installation of silt fence, fiber rolls, floating silt curtain, erosion control blankets, and various types of seeding and mulching.
  • Receives routine orders and engineering prints, indicating how products are to be placed.
  • Submits time reports, mileage and gas tickets, material charge outs, and other clerical forms or other required procedures.
  • Works with the awareness of the considerable hazards associated with the construction and maintenance of outside plant facilities, such as, but not limited to falls, the dangers of trenches, falling objects, motor vehicles, etc. Uses all protective personal equipment and complies with the appropriate safety regulations, including OSHA, DOT, EPA and company policies. Will attend and participate in all regularly scheduled safety and training meetings, and specialty training.
  • Will participate in the DOT mandated Drug and Alcohol Program, submitting to annual physicals, and random drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as "For Cause" drug and/or alcohol testing.
  • Provides the best possible service to all customers. Answers customer inquiries in an informative and polite manner or refers questions to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
  • Assist in mobilization and routine maintenance of equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Supervisory responsibilities will be added as the employees experience level increases.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
