Large utility is looking for a Sr. Field Engineering Tech Analyst in Detroit, MI. It's a hybrid role. The Senior Data Analyst develops standards, ensures compliance, and supports construction teams using GPS/GIS technology while managing projects and providing clear communication to teams. This is a contract position estimated to last 12 months, possible extension, possible temp to perm. Apply Now!

responsibilities:

  • Use GIS and GPS technologies to collect as-installed asset information for record development on construction projects.

  • Address construction concerns and provide support and recommendations to affected workgroups.

  • Lead and/or assist with engineering construction projects, including design, inspection, planning, permits, contracts, scheduling, and field investigation.

  • Maintain documentation processes related to GIS and GPS technology implementation.

  • Perform research and development to update engineering and construction standards.

  • Assist in project scope, design processes, and participate in project meetings.

  • Attend meetings, demonstrations, and pre-construction reviews as necessary.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Technical understanding of natural gas distribution systems, including construction, design, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to read construction prints and develop written operating procedures.

  • Manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously.

  • Research and understand advanced industry trends (GIS, GPS, construction techniques).

  • strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in GPS antenna hardware and software.

  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise).

  • Teamwork, analytical thinking, and willingness to learn new topics.

  • Familiarity with company values, CE Way, and Lean Tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of related work experience, OR

  • Associate degree with at least 9 years of related work experience, OR

  • High School Diploma with at least 13 years of related work experience.

  • Utility Locator Certification.
