Henry Ford Health System Special Events Intern Part Time in Detroit, Michigan

Description

Henry Ford Health System’s Special Events Student Intern Position is an opportunity for students to gain experience in a corporate organization specializing in health care. Students receive hands-on training coordinating marketing and fundraising events.

The Special Events team is dedicated to maximizing the efficiency and success of all special events, while involving and engaging our volunteers, prospects and donors.

Hours will be determined based on student’s school schedule (minimum of 25 hours). Overtime available based on calendar of events. The position pays $15.00 an hour. No benefits are offered.

Internship duration to last six months with possibility to extend based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist event leads with logistics, set up, registration and raffle at events

  • Edit and approve invitations, program books, signage and other event-related copy

  • Manage and update RSVPS, guest lists and event records

  • Assist with volunteer recruitment and coordinate volunteers at events

  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions

  • Draft and print mailings

  • Solicit raffle items

    Qualifications

  • Junior- or senior-level college student

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage time and deadlines efficiently

  • Reliable transportation

  • Local candidates only

  • Available for nights and weekends based on calendar of events
