Basic function

The PPD Business Development Manager is a Field based position that will support the SalonCentric Strategic Account Manager and Salon Business Partner to achieve PPD territory sales and KPI goals. The Manager, Brand Development will work closely with the SC Sam to develop and deploy key strategies and resources that support the success of the DSM/SAM teams, enabling them to deliver/exceed all prioritized sales/business objectives through new partnerships and increases in salon market share. The PPD BDM will serve as a secondary support to the SAM to close new partnerships and gain ISMS. They will help to build dynamic opportunities, drive Beauty Tech, business tools and function as the liaison between the SAM and Brand Education. The BDM will support and promote all education activity. They will be the conduit for feedback from the Field to our Brand Operations and Brand Activation teams.

  • Role supports 5-7 SalonCentric Strategic Account Managers

  • Reports to the Director of Brand Development, Street

  • PPD Brands include REDKEN, Matrix, L’Oreal Professionnel, Matrix, Biolage, Pureology, Mizani and Pulp Riot.

Responsibilities:

  • Support SC in New Partnerships and gaining ISMS and distribution.

  • Engage with salon prospects at the request of SC SAM.

  • Identify new partnership targets for SC SAM.

  • Utilize Brand, PPD and Summit tools (Salon Emotion, Access, Level, Hair.com etc.) demonstrate the value and support provided to our salon partners.

  • Educate SC SAM and Salons on Brand Activation tools and resources.

  • Work with brand education partners to schedule demos to secure new business and ISMS opportunity.

  • Create and implement territory growth strategies by aligning with Brand Big bets and educational focuses.

  • By request, support SC “at risk” customers to prevent loss to competition.

  • Drive support with SC Store and PPD Suite/ School teams to optimize SAO sales results.

  • Support the development and execution for all Summit Business events for existing and new customers.

  • Support SalonCentric sales meetings and omni-comm.

  • Support and promote all educational offerings available to salons: Events, Programs, Store Classes, In-Salon Classes, etc.

  • Serve as the voice of the Brands with SalonCentric Field Team members.

  • Provide weekly business status updates to Director of PPD Brand Development

  • Salesforce management

  • Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly status commentary for territory.

  • Manage fuel budget.

Experience:

  • 5-10 yrs. proven sales experience with emphasis on consultative selling

  • Summit Business program expertise

  • Effective development of Business Proposals

  • Experience with a distributor-based organization and structure.

  • Demonstrated track record of exceptional problem-solving skills in a selling environment.

  • Proven ability to manage a large geographic area.

  • Advanced presentation and communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills necessary (Microsoft Office, Power BI, Sales Force)

  • Ability to travel extensively (3 out of 4 weeks) and work weekends as needed.

    Education:

  • An undergraduate degree or commensurate professional experience is required.
