• Under minimal supervision, responsible for monitoring the financial status of multiple research grants, sub-contracts, and consultant and service agreements in multiple areas utilizing proper accounting procedures in multiple areas such as basic and clinical research, as well as collaborating with one or more departments/divisions including the responsibility over a major research area.

• May be responsible for philanthropic efforts.

• Analyze expense reports for the proper allocation of grant funds and expenses, and collaborate with external departments to verify and correct all accounting errors.

• Assist the Principal Investigators in the preparation of research grants, with specific responsibility for the preparation of budgets and budget justifications in compliance with internal and external agency guidelines.

• Analyze budgets and forecast to identify trends, grant balances and problems that will enhance departmental long-term planning.

• Prepare financial reports in compliance with internal and agency guidelines.

• Supervise and assign duties, to others as well as direct and train support staff in policies and procedures and monitor performance.

  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

• Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, preferred.

• Four to six years of progressively responsible financial experience.

• Knowledge of Excel or similar software packages.

• Analytical ability with attention to detail.

• Good interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
