Henry Ford Health System Manager -Anesthesia & Procedural Coding/Full Time/Remote in Detroit, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Manages and oversees Anesthesia coding and Procedural coding which is responsible for coding/billing and identifying documentation deficiencies for all HFHS employed providers' professional services along with Health System Hospital encounters. Directs and develops relevant performance metrics and enhances quality through staff reviews and education to facilitate routine collaboration with individual physicians and their staff; works with organizational leadership to plan, design, test, implement and evaluate integrated revenue cycle systems and solutions that support and enhance business practice, administrative and management needs. Manages both on-shore and off-shore resources.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field is required.

  • Four (4) years of relevant experience, or an associates degree with two (2) years relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

  • Five (5) or more years of experience directly related to coding and reimbursement.

  • Anesthesia experience preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Must have competency, tact, diplomacy, and communication skills necessary to professionally interact with peers, department personnel, administration, and physicians.

  • Proficient with Epic Electronic Health Record and Billing systems.

  • Experience with third-party payer contract language and payment methodologies.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • At least one of the following certifications: CPC, CCS, CCP, CCA, RHIT, or RHIA or coding certification must be obtained within two years of assuming position. Additional specialty certifications preferred.
