Amazoncom Services Inc HazWaste Coordinator in Detroit, Michigan

As we continue to grow our operation to serve our customer, we need to  work as smart as we can, to keep all our team members safe, fulfilled,  motivated and empowered. To help us achieve this, we're seeking a driven Hazardous Waste Coordinator. With a strong Bias for Action, you  would need to help drive health and safety in one of our Fulfillment  Centers.

Our Fulfillment Centers are at the heart of Amazon's  rapidly growing business: they're where we manage our fast-moving  inventory. Our associate teams stow deliveries, pick products, package  them up and ship them out: each of these groups have played their part  in taking us where we are today.

In this crucial Health and Safety position, you'll report into a Health and Safety Manager, as part of a shift-based role. Primary Responsibilities *  Characterization/determination of waste including proper segregation,  containerizing, labeling and preparing for shipment, in accordance with  DOT and RCRA requirements. * Physical maintenance and organization of  the waste storage/management areas and all satellite accumulation  areas, in accordance with regulatory requirements and applicable network  policies. * Re-ordering of equipment, containers, labels and other  supplies from the waste vendor or other vendors to maintain proper stock  levels. * Ensure that required records needed to assist with  policy-required waste recordkeeping, including waste generator logs and  routine inspections, are being completed and maintained. * Liaison  with Site Safety teams, ICQA, ISS, Vendor Returns and facilities teams  responsible for the proper management of hazardous chemicals and  generation of hazardous and universal wastes. * Support the Site  Safety Team in preparing monthly waste inventory and identifying the  necessary shipping frequency to comply with accumulation requirements. * Researching trends, inventory loss and cost reduction efforts, where applicable. *  Must be trained to handle and process waste in accordance with RCRA,  DOT, OSHA and state specific regulations and requirements. * Must be trained in HAZWOPER and be available to assist with incidental spill/leak/release clean-up activities.
