Henry Ford Health System Central Intake Specialist - E Home Care - 40 Hours - Days in Detroit, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of the Leader of Central Intake,

· Is responsible for intake of new referrals by phone, fax and/or computer.

· Enters referral demographics into computer, coordinates insurance coverage with the Billing department and assists with coordination of care.

· Routinely interacts with physicians, nurses, case managers and the general public regarding the coordination of patients' transitions of care and ongoing care in the home.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

· Requires a high school diploma or GED.

· College level coursework in business preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Requires a minimum of two (2) years of intake, customer service or billing experience.

· Home Health Care intake or billing experience preferred.

· General knowledge of medical coding and medical terminology required.

· Advanced computer knowledge, keyboard experience and Microsoft Office experience required, knowledge of Epic preferred.

· Ability to analyze and improve intake procedures required.
