Henry Ford Health System Associate Program Director #2 - Chiropractor in Detroit, Michigan

The Associate Program Director #2 will work in collaboration with the Associate Director #1, Program Directors, Program Manager, Coordinating Center staff and participating sites. Duties outlined will be split between Associate Program Director #1 and Associate Program Director #2 to engage and manage the substantial number of independent practitioners. The Associate Program Director #2 will be a contract position with a requirement to work 4 hours, non-consistent, on a weekly basis for the MIBAC program.

Support for the Michigan Back Collaborative (MIBAC) is a BCBSM-funded Collaborative Quality Initiative, with the Coordinating Center based at Henry Ford Health (OFP). The program focuses on improving outcomes for patients with acute low back pain who receive chiropractic care in the state of Michigan.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Serves as the lead for development and execution of presentations to the Chiropractor community

o Serves as a liaison with the MAC in regard to clinical content, sharing of information about VBR and best practices

o Meets with Chiropractors as needed to promote evidence-based care, current evidence supporting VBR measures, and how to incorporate guideline concordant care within an independent practice

o Identifies influential Chiropractors within the community and engages them in the program through information sharing, meetings, presentations, etc.

• Outreach to chiropractor groups

• Coordinating with the chiropractor executive committee for program development

• Subject matter expert for Chiropractors

• Other duties related to accomplishing the mission of the collaborative, as directed by the Program Director

• Assists Associate Program Director #1 the development of training modules and resources for MIBAC participants

• Overall strategic planning

• QI input and collaboration including direction to the QI Lead re: essential variables to investigate during site visits

• Development of resources for clinicians and patients as determined by the leadership team

• Participation on the Executive Committee

• MIBAC statewide meetings

• Participation in Coordinating Center leadership meetings 1x per month or as requested by the Program Director

• Participation in BCBSM touchpoints as requested by Program Manager or Program Director

• Attends 50% of MAC and other designated meetings essential for program development, alternating with Associate Program Director #1

• To assist with program comprehension and engagement, serves as the key Chiropractic contact with Physician Organizations that include Chiropractors as members, attending virtual meetings up to 4x/year with Physician Organizations, as designed by Coordinating Center leadership

SCHEDULE:

  • Remote 4 hours/week x 48 weeks/year

  • Weekend requirements = 4 to 5x/year for meetings and conventions

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Doctor of Chiropractic degree (D.C.) from an accredited chiropractic degree program by the Council of Chiropractic Education.

    • Licensure to practice.

    • Must be an approved and active participant with the BCBSM Book of Business.

    • Completion of at least one MIBAC training or active in MIBAC Quality Improvement.

    • Support and advocate for evidence-based clinical guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of low back pain care.

    • 5 years of experience required but 10 years preferred

  • Familiar with the MAC

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS PREFERRED:

    • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, electronic mail and Internet navigation software.

    • Ability to collaborate with senior leaders and large teams with diverse members.

    • Ability to act as a change agent, providing direction to others and gaining their support.

    • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff across the System.

    • Strong oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.

    • Sound decision-making skills and problem-solving skills.
