Role Summary
This position is a full-time on-site assignment located in Sardinia.
The On-Site Application Engineer role is responsible for supporting Lifecycle Advantage (LCA) contracts at assigned site(s), ensuring that all work is done according to the defined LCA Program metrics and deliverables. To clarify, Lifecycle Advantage programs aim to overcome the conflicting goals that often exist in traditional customer-supplier relationships.
Flowserve is committed to helping customers reduce their Life Cycle Cost (LCC) based on mutually agreed-upon metrics. In return, the customer agrees to increase Flowserve's market share on site. In simple terms, an LCA program is a collaborative and trust-based relationship that benefits both the customer and supplier. This is achieved by having common Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that both parties work towards.
Your Role
People: Safety
Lead LCA programs with high safety standards, following Flowserve policies and promoting a positive SHEA culture.
Complete safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
Process and Technology: Continuous Improvement
Support Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) projects and develop new methods to improve seal life.
Develop yearly Lean Practitioner, Green Belt or Black Belt Projects (if applicable).
Process and Technology: Flowserve Products and Services
- Assist in developing new methods of solving problems and modifying existing seal designs to meet customer needs and improve seal life.
Customer: Customer Focus
Provide expertise on mechanical seal design, application, and operation.
Analyze failures, provide recommendations, and oversee seal upgrades.
Prioritize engineering and manufacturing to meet customer expectations.
Conduct reliability walkabouts, troubleshoot systems, and lead Alliance Implementation Team (AIT) meetings.
Document Quality Control (QC) activities and present to the customer as requested.
Customer: LCA Site(s) Operational Performance Targets
For all assigned LCA Contract site(s):
Complete LCA Business Plans and achieve targets, including:
LCA Scorecard
Flowstar Survey Completion
MTBR
Booking
CCO
OTD and RCT
Material Cost
Financials: LCA Financial Performance
Achieve site(s) LCA Inventory Targets and support Primary Working Capital initiative.
Coordinate inventory program and report on: + Inventory levels + Buy Back Value (if applicable)
Achieve Material Expense Target and provide accurate forecasts.
Your Profile
BSME degree or 1-3 years of relevant industry experience.
Rotating Equipment experience in Seals and/or Pumps.
Business experience as an Applications Engineer and/or Project Manager.
Team-oriented leadership style.
Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
