Job overview

As the Sr Director, Strategic Partnerships Business Development for Transactional Lines, you will be responsible for establishing digital B2B2C partnerships by designing value-driven programs that help partners grow their business, strengthen their customer relationships, and create effortless experiences. This role requires a blend of creative, strategic thinking and thought leadership in order to identify the right combination of program attributes that deliver results for partners and for HUB.

This role includes collaborating with cross-functional teams and building and closing a pipeline to reach quarterly and annual goals. Experience selling and negotiating enterprise partnerships and existing relationships in the auto and/or home ecosystems are highly valued.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Rapidly expand partnerships by developing and executing a go-to-market strategy that meets/exceeds quarterly and annual targets.

  • Lead the end-to-end sales funnel with the Strategic Partnerships team to include research, prospect, qualify, design, negotiate, and close.

  • Build strategic relationships to gain positioning with key decision makers in the auto and home/real estate ecosystems that accelerate partnership acquisitions.

  • Stage and facilitate the effective handoff of closed deals to the program activation team.

  • Coordinate understanding of partner technical requirements and collaborate with the internal partnership team to guide the design of our product offerings, customer journeys, and technical solutions.

  • Share partner insights with business and product teams to drive continuous improvements in the Transactional Lines offering.

  • Demonstrate a broad comprehension of partner and end-customer needs and priorities, as well as market trends, major players, industry challenges, and relevant products/technologies.

  • Support building best practices for the Strategic Partnerships team through sales planning and quarterly business reviews.

  • Identify cross-sell opportunities for HUB solutions within the larger partner relationship, whether distribution-oriented or other P&C/finance products, e.g. commercial lines

Education

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in end-to-end B2B2C sales and/or partnerships

  • Strong proven sales history in selling into or partnering with large, complex enterprise brands and organizations, preferably in the auto and/or home ecosystem

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams

Knowledge and skills

  • Strong business and consultative sales acumen

  • Strategic thinking and thought leadership skills

  • Industry knowledge of the insurance sector, related operational models, and trends

  • Deep understanding of automotive and/or home and real estate ecosystems

  • Ability to work collaboratively with different business teams and partnering on deals to get them across the finish line

  • Impactful writing and presentation skills, with the ability to convey compelling messages in 1:1, small and large-group settings, both in-person and virtually

  • Analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to evaluate prospects

  • Experience leading conversations with executive level external partners

  • Collaborative leadership. Equally comfortable leading a conversation with an Engineer, Product Manager, or C-level executive to secure buy-in

  • Coachability, interest in implementing feedback, and dedication to the improvement of your craft and our team's development

  • Speed, resourcefulness, and a go-getter mentality. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, navigating ambiguity and rapid change

  • CRM proficiency with MS Dynamics and/or Salesforce

  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint and ideation tools (Business Model Canvas, Miro) are a strong advantage.
