Honeywell R&D Tech I Pilot Plant Technician in Des Plaines, Illinois

The desired candidate will work a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, typically starting between 6am-7am, and will observe the established company holiday schedule.

Provide pilot plant support for R&D customers, Manufacturing, and Sales Support. Your work will primarily support pilot plant operations including loading research scale reactors to custom criteria, conducting feedstock blending and dispensing activities for all Des Plaines pilot plants, maintain the feedstock database, and performing small equipment repair and feed vessel maintenance. Work independently and in group settings to collect, organize, and interpret support requests and perform them with a high degree of accuracy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to lift, handle, and dispense 5 gallon pails and 55 gallon drums

  • Occasional lifting and manipulation of bags, samples, and other objects up to 35 pounds may be required

  • Handling of chemicals and other hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals is required

  • Ability to wear a full-face respirator as well as understanding per OSHA guidelines any facial hair that interferes with the seal of the respirator is not permitted

The annual base salary or/ hourly pay range for this position is $44,700 - $55,800. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business.

YOU MUST HAVE

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• 1+ years of experience in a laboratory or research environment.

• Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and procedures.

  • Previous hands-on technician experience is preferred

  • Previous lift truck operation experience is preferred
