Trinity Health Manager MRI Medical Imaging in DES MOINES, Iowa

Description:

Assumes responsibility, authority and accountability in the MRI department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

· Provides care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

· Develops and implements department objectives in collaboration with staff while maintaining open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other departments.

· Counsels and monitors performance of staff; conducts performance appraisals; promotes staff development.

· Works with management to attain staff compliance of objectives and the implementation of procedures and policies.

· Conducts interviews for prospective employees; works with the Human Resources Department in recruiting/hiring new personnel.

· Promotes professionalism with the department, hospital, and community; acts as a role model.

· Participates in hospital meetings and on committees as requested; facilitates regular departmental meetings with staff.

· Monitors the physical environment of the department.

· Manages and coordinates the activities of the MRI Department with other areas of the department and hospital to insure and maintain patient care.

· Responsible for the management of work assignments, schedules, coverage, and orientation of the supervisors and technologists.

· Participates in the purchase/maintenance of equipment and contracts/meetings with vendors.

· Participates in preparing the MRI Department operating and capital budgets.

· Keeps abreast of current trends, new equipment/procedures and informs Imaging Director.

· Coordinates staffing, protocols, ACR accreditation and equipment management with all sites.

· Ensures MRI safety operations. Reviews Joint Commission and ACR accreditation standards and regulations to ensure maintenance of organizational compliance. Stays abreast of current industry standards regarding safety trends and routinely communicates such to the MR Medical Director and Imaging management. Schedules regular safety training for hospital staff and MR technologists.

· Ensures compliance with best practice gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCA) policy per organizational standards and along with the MRI medical director educates all MRI personnel of latest industry standards for GBCA usage.

· Works collaboratively with Physicist(s) to maintain optimal image quality and maintain organizational approved QA/QC standard

AMA approved two-year training program in Radiologic Technology and registered by the ARRT, active status.

· Licensed to practice in the State of Iowa.

· Maintains Iowa Permit to Practice.

· MRI board certified by the ARRT or ARMRIT

· MRSO certified by the ABMRS preferred or obtained within 1 year.

· Four years MRI experience required, management experience preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred, required within three years of hire.

· Maintains BCLS qualification.

· Participates in professional society (i.e. ISRT or SCD).

· Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire.
