Atlantic Bottling Company Distribution Supervisor- Des Moines in Des Moines, Iowa
Overview/Function: The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of the daily activities for local route delivery drivers, and the Ames warehouse, and for collaboration between branches for inventory and cross docking. The Supervisor is also a mentor and coach, responsible for training and development activities to ensure service levels meet customer and Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company performance expectations.
Major Responsibilities:
Supervise route driver personnel, provide training, and oversee performance management.
Work with the Distribution/Delivery team to meet customer and Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company performance expectations, while positively reflecting the company and iconic Coca-Cola brand image.
Maintain Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottlings delivery standard procedures, and ensure drivers are following work orders and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure all drivers are following DOT requirements and safety regulations.
Regularly ride with delivery staff, visit customer locations, and provide on-going coaching and feedback.
Act as corporate liaison and ensure professional contact with customers, while maintaining a clean and neat appearance at all times, and a positive Atlantic Bottling brand image.
Develop and manage driver work schedule and responsibilities.
Resolve concerns and issues with customers, as well as with delivery staff.
Ensure effective communication between departments to effectively complete distribution activities such as delivery of product, filling of shelves, rotating stock, building displays, and receiving unsold product (credits).
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of route/delivery experience
Valid Class A CDL with air brakes is required . (We can help candidate to obtain.)
No greater than 2 moving violations, and no OWIs in the last five years
Previous personnel management experience preferred
Excellent customer service communication skills in order to interact with customers. Must provide professional contact and appearance with customers which upholds Atlantic Bottlings brand image.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and effectively solve on-site problems, while under potentially stressful situations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent teacher and motivator
Excellent team-player
Customer-focused with the ability to positively and effectively interact with customers is essential
Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations
Some light computer experience is helpful.
Additional:
The role will travel to various customer sites, as a result each environment will vary.
This position is very active and requires regular standing, walking, twisting, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climb stairs. The employee may frequently lift and/or move items over 55 lbs. and will also push/pull approximately 150 lbs. of product using moving equipment. (Moving equipment and tools will be provided to reduce strains and injury.) Some manual finger, hand, and arm dexterity, and to potentially work around cramped and tight spaces will be needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Extensive regional day travel is required with this role.
The role will frequently interact with customers.
To accomplish their tasks, the position will need to work around variety of weather environments which the Midwest offers (i.e. sun, rain, sleet, rain, snow, cold, heat)
Work hours will mostly be Monday-Friday (6:00 am 4:00 pm). Occasional alternative days/times may be needed, depending on customer needs.
