Robert Half Telecommunications Engineer in Derby, Connecticut
Description We are in search of a Telecommunications Engineer to join our team in DERBY, Connecticut. As a Telecommunications Engineer, you will be tasked with maintaining and enhancing telecom systems, including PBX, Key and VoIP systems. You will also have the responsibility of managing customer requests, coordinating telecom product delivery, and participating in planning sessions for current and future technology planning.
Responsibilities:
• Programming of PBX, Key, and VoIP systems and ensuring their smooth operation.
• Managing tasks relating to telecom operations, installation, and maintenance for local, offsite, and remote location phone systems.
• Assisting with the coordination and delivery of telecom products such as Video, wireless, VoIP, POTs, fiber, and Telecom solutions to office and department locations.
• Working with voice and data cable management systems within buildings, including but not limited to, riser cables, fiber, cat 5& 6 cables, coax.
• Testing and correcting end-to-end cable issues.
• Utilizing Microsoft Office and computer software products for work processes.
• Developing and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Participating actively in Technology, Daily, Quarterly and Annual planning sessions for current and future technology planning, architecture improvements, and strategy sessions.
• Managing Customer Adds, Moves, and Change requests timely to meet defined IS department SLAs.
• Working directly with clients, IT, and management personnel through phone, email, and case management system to troubleshoot and resolve customer reported telecommunications or network issues. Requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Telecommunications Engineer or in a similar role.
• Proficient in Avaya CMS and Cisco Webex Meetings.
• Experience with CRM and Crystal Reports is required.
• Familiarity with the About Time management system.
• Knowledgeable in auditing procedures and compliance.
• Skilled in communication and component selection.
• Must not have any discriminatory behavior or language as per the Discriminatory Words list.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions quickly.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
