Job Summary

This position is for a bilingual clinician who screens, enrolls, and provides an evidence-based brief group intervention in English and Spanish to patients who are pregnant and postpartum. Some groups are offered in person and some are offered via telehealth. Some individual therapy and case management is included, as well. The position is part of a project funded by the National Institutes of Mental Health and conducted by researchers at the University of Denver. Clinician maintains active caseload and appropriate documentation of services in the electronic health record and study records. Clinician functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team in the primary medical setting as well as part of the larger organization. Services uphold Colorado Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) Standards.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for intake, design of treatment recommendations and creating plan of care at time of initial assessment. Facilitates individual telephonic therapy sessions and fundamental case management. Works as a member of a multidisciplinary patient care team demonstrated by the capacity to ask for additional tasks, or helping team members when not busy. Coordinate medication/ medicinal needs of patients with medical sources. (20%) Responds to patient and referral needs in a timely, professional and non-defensive manner. (20%) Documents legibly, while accurately reflecting the patient's clinical progression. All therapeutic interventions and patient response to interventions are documented within the prescribed guidelines. (20%) Works diligently to protect the confidentiality of patient information by creating and maintaining a secure and trusting environment by sharing patient information only when necessary in the performance of the job responsibilities or to improve a patient's care. (20%) Makes attempts to re-engage any patient who seeks a premature discharge from the program. (10%) Participates in weekly team meetings and monthly educational in-service/training events; attends workshops/conferences to promote ongoing professional and educational development. (10%)

Education:

Master's Degree Psychology or other related human services degree Required

Work Experience:

1-3 years Typically 5,000 hours or 2 years of clinical experience post master's degree. Required

Licenses:

Registered with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a qualified licensure candidate; either as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW). 2. Certified Addiction Counselor Level I, II, or III preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Performs in accordance with evidence-based clinical framework; achieves high standards of care through the implementation of evidence based services and application of clinical policies and procedures for all patients. Keen understanding of the disease progression of psychiatric disorders and motivating persons for positive change. Possesses critical thinking skills that lead to the identification of the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Promotes the capacity to provide clinical assistance, emotional support and management skill building, or other necessary clinical care to patients when needed. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality of patients' records. Computer skills required. Computer skills preferred.
