The University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) Business School invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position in management at the level of Instructor of Management. Recognized for its educational excellence, the Business School brings together a world-class faculty, top-notch students, and influential business partners. With flexibility in class modality, the Business School at CU Denver is the largest graduate school of business in the region and the first choice for business professionals. In addition, the undergraduate business program offers both traditional and cutting-edge majors, suitable for all student types.
This position is for a one-year appointment (2024/2025 academic year). Any continuing employment opportunity beyond one year is subject to university funding becoming available, and an open search will be conducted. The Instructor of Management position will entail teaching undergraduate courses, with a focus on teaching strategic management. The possibility for graduate teaching (MBA/MS) opportunities may be available. The start date of the position is August 2024.
Instructor of Management
What you will do:
A successful candidate at the Instructor level can expect a 70% - 80% teaching work distribution (7-8 courses annually), with the remaining 20% - 30% of the contract distributed between service and research/scholarship responsibilities. The specifics of the 20% - 30% of the contract beyond teaching responsibilities are negotiable. Teaching a minimum of 7 courses annually is an expectation of the position.
Teaching undergraduate strategic management courses will comprise most of the teaching requirements for this position. Teaching assignments will include various modalities, including online, in-person, and/or hybrid, depending on department needs. The successful candidate is expected to reside in the Denver metro area.
Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
Master's level degree from a business school (MBA or MS) or closely related school/program
Previous teaching experience in a business school, in a full-time or part-time role.
Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
Industry experience in a management role
Previous online and/or hybrid teaching experience
Candidates showing the potential for teaching effectiveness, demonstrated by indicators such as past teaching/course evaluations, experience with curriculum development, and/or pedagogical training.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $85,000-$95,000.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
