OrePac Building Products Sr. Maintenance Manager in Denver, Colorado

Job Title: Sr. Maintenance Manager

Pay & FSLA Status: $100,000-$140,000 base salary , D.O.E. plus additional bonus opportunity; Salary exempt

Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday

Regular Weekly Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week (overtime as needed)

Paid Time Off (PTO): 80 hours accrued year 1; 120 hours accrued annually after year 1

Paid Sick Time: Per state requirements

Branch Location: Position may be performed from Wilsonville, OR; Tacoma, WA; Sacramento, CA; Denver, CO; or Ontario, CA; Current employees may perform this position from their current branch

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Sr. Maintenance Manager is responsible for 1) repairing and troubleshooting equipment across all the OrePac locations, 2) continued development of OrePAc’s Preventive Maintenance (PM) program, 3) specifying, ordering, and installing new or transferred equipment, and 4) managing projects involving equipment to facilities that a location cannot handle. Although this position does not have any direct reports, this position is responsible for providing superior levels of management and leadership to a team of managers at the branch level.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, establish, implement, and maintain a variety of maintenance related programs.

  • Provide technical expertise to the locations regarding equipment and maintenance best practices.

  • Travel to locations to repair and maintain equipment either on a scheduled or emergency basis.

  • Develop industry knowledge for equipment trends and quality standards to best support OrePac’s products and services.

  • Specify and recommend equipment for new programs or for replacement equipment.

  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the locations and report progress.

  • Develop improvement plans for the locations to reduce downtime and improve overall equipment performance.

  • Conduct maintenance/equipment audits at the branches to provide feedback regarding progress and compliance to Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Lead safety related projects from brainstorm to completion.

  • Responsible for writing and updating the company’s Safety Manual.

  • Provide maintenance training to employees as required.

  • Forklift duties may be assigned to this position. Assigned forklift duties will first require taking and passing a forklift training course and obtaining a certificate. Forklift duties will include moving, staging, and/or stacking material neatly and safely, operating the forklift in a safe manner, filling the forklift with propane fuel, and regularly checking the forklift fluid levels.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time on a scheduled and emergency basis.

  • Knowledge of door shop equipment and capabilities, including Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) logic.

  • Knowledge of general manufacturing and facilities processes and workflows.

  • Knowledge of CMMS’s and effectively using them for driving improvement.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to build teams remotely and in person during site visits.

  • Ability to leverage professional network in problem solving and resolution.

  • Strong planning, organization, multi-tasking, and engagement skills.

  • Ability to problem solve minor to complex challenges utilizing the tools and resources available and escalate the matter when appropriate.

  • Excellent communication skills. Comfortable speaking in front of groups of people consisting of employees, customers, and/or members of leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability engaging and leading individual and team discussions and meetings. Ability to articulate direction and expectations to teammates in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job.

  • Ability to adhere to all facets of safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated by OrePac’s safety program. Ability to perform all essential responsibilities of job in a safe manner.

  • Ability to compute basic math problems to include addition, subtraction, and multiplication.

  • Strong mechanical and technical skills. Ability to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  • 10 or more years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar roles.

  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in place of the education and/or experience requirements listed for this role.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision.

  • Regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Regularly reach with hands and arms.

  • Regularly lift/move/manipulate up to 60 pounds and occasionally required to team lift/move/manipulate up to 100 pounds.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods.

  • Regularly steer, reach, and handle various materials or equipment if forklift operation duties are assigned to the position.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position regularly works in a shop environment and near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/loud.

  • This position is required to use standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

  • This position occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions.

  • This position will travel to OrePac locations up to 75% of the time on a scheduled and emergency basis.

    DRESS CODE:

  • All employees are expected to wear clothing appropriate for the nature of OrePac business and the type of work being performed. Clothing should be tasteful.

    SAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
