Job Description

The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of income tax returns with federal, state and foreign jurisdictions. This individual conducts a variety of tax compliance, planning, and research tasks, and other duties as assigned.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for income tax compliance for entities within the partnership group with both domestic and foreign filing requirements.

  • Prepare estimated tax payments and calculations for various federal, state, and foreign jurisdictions.

  • May assist in a preparation role for severance, sales, or ad valorem tax items as needed.

  • Research tax issues and work on special projects as needed.

  • Perform department administrative duties as needed to support company initiatives.

  • Regular attendance at the worksite is required.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills including ability to research tax issues.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.

  • Strong technological skills including proficiency in tax research software and Oracle or other general ledger systems.

  • Experience with CCH, Thomson Reuters or similar tax compliance software is preferred

  • Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and within teams in order to establish and meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact and clearly communicate with taxing authorities, external customers, and individuals at all levels within the organization.

  • Must be dependable with a stable work history.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays.

  • Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.

  • Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.

  • Must be committed to working safely at all times.

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field is required.

  • Public accounting experience is preferred.

  • Oil and gas industry experience is a plus.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with emphasis on tax compliance.

Travel:

Negligible travel required.

A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00
