System One Senior Contracts Manager (Power Generation Construction) in Denver, Colorado

System One is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Contracts Manager to join our team supporting our client in Denver, CO.

This Contracts Manager will be working within the commercial area within the supply chain organization as it relates to the expansion of our power generation fleet. Our client is involved in a large growth portfolio of new power generation, which includes gas turbines, wind, solar and battery storage. This position will be supporting, again, the commercial aspects of those power generation initiatives, which includes the management of existing contracts, large construction contracts as well as equipment supply contracts.

Contract Manager Responsibilities:

  • The model for this position does involve mostly local travel.

  • There shouldn't be any flights involved, but it will be supporting new and existing power generation projects in and around the greater Denver area.

  • Travel will vary on the stage of the project.

  • Supporting commercial aspects of those power generation initiatives, which includes the management of existing contracts, large construction contracts as well as equipment supply contracts.

  • In addition to implementing and starting new contracts, which includes requests for proposals that will be issued to prospective suppliers and contractors, construction contractors, working through a bit of evaluation process using company standard processes, negotiating contracts, and then administering and managing the contracts to life cycle.

  • Oftentimes the projects are in what I would call the predevelopment stage, which involves coordination and close working relationships with engineering and construction managers within our local downtown Denver facility, however, as the projects progress to actual field construction, there will be some level of effort maybe a day or two a week depending on the status of the project out at the construction site.

  • Supporting portfolio/revenue size: 300-500 MM.

    Contracts Manager Requirements:

  • 10-12 years of power generation experience is preferred with focus on Industrial/commercial construction experience.

  • Experience with large complex agreements who have had enough experience working with the legal terms to effectively negotiate them or to be able to manage the complexities of a large contract.

  • Commercial acumen to understand construction contracts and different elements that reduce the company's risk.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with teammates throughout a cross-functional organization such as Energy Supply.

  • Must be self-driven and engaged, forward thinking and take initiative.

  • Keen attention to detail in addition to being very organized. Looking for someone who is very energetic and is interested in learning

    Project Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid Schedule)

    Contract Location: 12-Months (Highly likely of extension and even conversion, for the right candidate. The portfolio that this position would be supporting has projects in the queue through 2030.

    Pay Rate: $ 84/hr.
