Senior Analyst, Retail (icebreaker)

What will you do?

A day in the life of a Senior Analyst, Retail at icebreaker looks a little like this.

The Senior Analyst, Retail position is an integral role in Direct to Consumer (DTC) business for icebreaker North America. This person closely interacts with all members of the supply chain team and acts as the primary liaison to the Store Operations teams to execute and support corporate vision and financial objectives. The Senior Analyst, Retail is responsible for ensuring product is planned appropriately for and delivered on time to the icebreaker US and Canada retail stores, and ensuring retail stores are sufficiently stocked and merchandised to support their sales and margin objectives. The Senior Analyst, Retail reports into the Senior Manager, Supply Chain Operations icebreaker NORA.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Demand Planning : Own demand planning for all style colors assorted to the retail stores; determine the retail assortment in collaboration with retail store leadership, provide the analysis to guide this conversation; ensure regional bottoms up plans will meet their financial targets and store capacity needs for the season; use forecasting tools to capture changes in sales to determine future sales expectations and store specific needs; provide seasonal forecast recap to retail team to align expectations for future seasons

  • Allocations: Manage all aspects of store replenishment including weekly stock allocations through use of created allocation tools; determine, build, and maintain model stock requirements and seasonal inventory profiles by location that enable the region’s stores to reach their sales and margin objectives; perform analysis to prioritize store stock based on supply; communicate and report on strategy and performance to stakeholders; and participate in retail store visits to obtain feedback to aid in allocation strategy.

  • Inventory Management: Create and analyze sales and inventory reporting to determine allocation approaches that address style/color/size needs by store; use data to determine best strategy for inter-store transfers and returns to warehouse; manage retail inventory positions; assess inventory availability in other channels to support in-season demand plans for retail and request stock transfers as needed; and create plans to minimize negative effects to retail stores due to supply chain issues; form a detailed understanding of retail inventory performance vs forecast and previous year.

  • Retail Store Support: Actively participate in promotional strategy for Touchlabs and execution of the regional outlet promotional strategy by validating the stock requirements and stock availability for the outlets; communicate outlet strategy adjustments to solve overstock issues as well as manage strategy for aged goods; coordinate and support the region’s retail store stocktakes; manage distro tracking and analyze/research on inventory and in transit

  • Reporting: Seasonally recap and report location and size selling performance and needs; create monthly and quarterly reporting for retail; identify key business drivers and constant process improvement; create presentations, ad hoc reporting based on series/collection/marketing, and other operational project reports to support Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and special project stakeholders as well as for review with Executive Leadership.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 3-5 years of experience and professional achievements preferably in the apparel industry.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • A proven track record of improving store performance resulting from effective pre-season and in-season management of demand forecasts and inventory allocations to retail stores

  • A solid understanding of what it takes to effectively manage inventory in a high growth model

  • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving capability and skill

  • Proven track record of effective qualitative and quantitative judgement and decision making

  • Ability to navigate and improve upon excel based planning and allocation tools, as well as an ability to create excel tools and analysis from scratch

  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and an appetite to learn new systems

  • Strong relationship building, communication and time management skills

  • Continuous improvement mind-set and proven success identifying and implementing process improvements

  • Knows the retail levers & tactics: sell through, turnover, traffic, conversion, basket size

  • Versatile with the ability to adapt to change and successfully work with ambiguity

  • Consumer-centric mind-set with prior retail experience preferred

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Proven to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressured creative environment

  • Possesses an ability to understand financial measurements and how to impact them

  • Able to deliver strong and thorough presentations, clearly identifying business issues and decisions

  • Location requirement: Denver based with three days a week in the Denver office headquarters.

Hiring Range :

$69,120.00 USD - $86,400.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
