CoreSite Power Solutions Analyst in Denver, Colorado

As a member of the company’s Power & Energy Management team, the Power Solutions Analyst will be responsible for a variety of analytical and reporting functions that contribute to maximizing the competitiveness and financial performance of the company’s product portfolio. This role will focus on energy procurement, commercial negotiations, product development, customer segmentation and targeting, product financial and operational performance, long-range planning, and competitor benchmarking.

Duties:

  • Analytical Research: Analyze, research, and present on various energy management topics, such as power capacity, energy markets, and utility rate trends, to support strategic decision-making.

  • Vendor Management: Support utility vendor relationships, including reviewing and analyzing capacity agreements, procurement contracts, and rate schedules.

  • Market Positioning: Perform product positioning research contributing to segmentation, targeting, and value proposition development.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver detailed reports on revenue, expenses, and profitability by product, market and segment.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to support financial planning, customer billing, and utility rate forecasting.

  • ESG Reporting: Support Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data collection and reporting initiatives.

  • Sales Support: Collaborate with Sales and General Managers to support and analyze energy deal terms and sales contract profitability.

  • Operational Performance: Develop reports highlighting operational performance specific to data centers.

  • Senior Management Engagement: Present analysis, reports, and recommendations to senior management.

  • Cross-Functional Support: Assist other product, procurement, or engineering functions and operational needs as they arise.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Hybrid: Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment that consists of at least two onsite days per week.

  • Quantitative & Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and SQL report creation and analysis.

  • Travel: Occasional travel <10% that will vary and can be spontaneous based on transactional requirements.

Education/Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: At least 2-5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.

  • Industry Experience: Experience in electric utilities or commodities, telecommunications, or other technology sectors is preferred.

Compensation:

Compensation for this role includes a base salary between $$87,000 and 93,000 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus and equity, based upon individual and company performance.
