Merchandise Manager for Global JanSport and AMER Eastpak

What w ill you do ?

VF Packs Organization is looking for a Merchandising expert to lead the planning and execution of the seasonal product line for the global JanSport specialty wholesale, jansport.com and Eastpak AMER segments. This role provides the critical link between product creation, marketing, sales, and supply chain. Partnering with these cross functional teams, the Merchandise Manager defines the consumer, creates a differentiated brand vision for the business segment, and drives that point of view into the marketplace. This position requires a deep understanding of Gen Z and Gen Alpha market trends, consumer behavior and the art and science of merchandising

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Build consumer centric seasonal product briefs, merchandise strategies, and assortment plans for assigned consumer segment to deliver revenue and margin targets while preserving brand position and image.

  • Provide analysis and integration of global data sets (sell-in, sell-through, marketplace data, etc.) to build a foundation for seasonal line architecture and drive actionable business recommendations and tactics.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of merchandising plans.

How you will do it:

  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to inform merchandising decisions by translating customer and competitive patterning insights into actions that will drive the business forward.

  • Use insights of global data sets (sell-in, sell-through, marketplace data, etc..) to manage product assortments and future looking strategies.

  • Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams and external partners by ensuring clear and consistent communication.

What success looks like:

  • Achieving sales and profitability targets by ensuring compelling specialty and ecommerce assortments.

  • Articulate strong product point of view that is backed by data and competitive insights across, up and down organization.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 5+ years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Strong understanding of key retail metrics.

  • Understanding of specialty market trends and consumer behavior specifically Gen Z. Ability to turn product insight into actionable recommendations.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills that bring people together.

  • Self-directed, independent, and dedicated. Innovative thinker that responds with speed and agility. Elevated taste level and passion for trends.

  • Understanding of product development calendar, timelines and deliverables.

Hiring Range :

$90,720.00 USD - $113,400.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
