SUMMARY The Environmental Specialist role is an hourly role reporting to the EHS Leader. This position is responsible for the execution and evaluation of critical processes, programs, and procedures relative to achieving plant goals and objectives, related to the Environment, Occupational Health, Regulatory Law, and Safety.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES: Adhere to, and continuously improve upon, all plant and position-specific safety policies, procedures, and standards. Coordinate application, maintenance, compliance, and retention of facility regulatory permits and fees. Ensure proper environmental, health, and safety training, awareness, and communications to all employees. Provide guidance, support, and change leadership for environmental / regulatory, health, and safety objectives. Analyze and design programs to address / improve the facility environmental, regulatory, health, and safety impacts. Lead and support environmental initiatives and processes to drive towards zero NOVs/ENCs Understands and actively supports the concept of LFI (Learning From Incidents) for all environmental incidents, property damage, near miss, and all injuries resulting in first aid treatment or more. Track all incidents and corrective actions to closure. Can train others in specific environmental tasks. Understands and ensures compliance with our regulatory and corporate standards. Respect for the potential hazards within the manufacturing operation. Training and regular auditing of our processes. Guide incident investigations and implement appropriate corrective actions. Function as a supporting member of the EHS team. Ability to take direction and influence others for action and alignment Responsible for managing safety & environmental inspections. Maintain the floor dry stations and environmental waste outlets. Act as a guide and safety trainer for outside contractors. Manages hazardous waste storage, tracking log, labeling and disposal spreadsheet. Track environmental training for all employees. Close out all assigned tasks in the Lotus Notes database. Write JHA's and Standard Work and train others Lead and support various safety teams Update and maintain the requirements of the GHS (Global Harmonized Standard) that include, SDS books and chemical labeling. Filling and conducting environmental inspections. Data entry for various information collected
