As the University's largest and most varied academic unit, the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) is comprised of artists, learners, performers, scholars, scientists, and teachers across 21+ departments, programs, schools, and centers and acts as a central hub where many of the University's disciplines intersect. Nearly all 6,000 undergraduates at the University take liberal arts courses with us, and about one-third of these students declare a first major in a CAHSS program. Half of our departments, programs and schools offer master's or doctoral programs. CAHSS scholars, artists, instructors, staff, and students collaborate in a shared quest for knowledge about the human condition and the development of skills to improve our local and global communities. The diverse scope of CAHSS allows our students to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed at nearly any career in today's global society.

Position Summary

The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) seeks to hire temporary enrollment and scheduling support staff. These positions will be non-benefited, part-time roles not to exceed 1000 hours in a calendar year. Supportive work will include system entry of schedules and room requests, collaboration with CAHSS department chairs and directors on faculty availability, coordinating and entering book orders, supporting students with registration questions and issues, and other similar duties. These positions will provide operations support within the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) for a variety of enrollment and scheduling functions and general office support.

Schedules are flexible at approximately 15-30 hours per week, in-person on the University of Denver's main campus.

These are non-benefited, part-time positions not to exceed 1000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate with academic chairs and directors to gather information on course offerings, faculty availability and student enrollment projections in line with course scheduling policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Services Manager to develop and maintain the CAHSS course schedule each quarter and monitor course enrollments.
  • Support students with registration issues and questions and information about course offerings and schedules.
  • Coordinate book orders with the DU Bookstore.
  • Collaborate with the Enrollment Services manager to perform data entry of college wide course schedules into Banner. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills/ability to work well with multiple populations
  • Proven planning and organizational skills, high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative and independent judgement
  • Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft office suite Required Qualifications

  • Professional experience, training, or education in office management, administrative support, or a related field.

  • Experience in an office support setting Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in an off ce support setting

  • Experience in higher education
  • Familiarity with Banner, Concur, Slate, or similar academic management software Application Deadline
