University Of Denver Club Alpine Skiing Coach in Denver, Colorado

Position Overview

The University of Denver is seeking a dedicated and experienced Club Alpine Ski Team Coach to lead and develop our alpine ski team. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of coaching experience in alpine skiing and possess strong leadership and organizational skills. The coach is required to attend all off-campus practices, trainings, and competitions and must be available throughout the academic year, especially during the winter session.

This is a part-time, non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions Plan, organize, and conduct off-campus practice sessions to enhance athletes' skills, techniques, and overall team performance in alpine skiing. Develop and implement effective training programs and competition strategies. Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, supporting their academic and athletic development. Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. Manage competition-day operations, including athlete preparation, in-race adjustments, and post-race analysis. Accompany the team to all training sessions, practices, and competitions. Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices, training sessions, competitions, and travel. Communicate regularly with club officers and the Student Program Manager regarding team activities, schedules, and administrative matters. Maintain compliance with University policies and guidelines related to club sports. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of alpine skiing techniques, training methodologies, and competition rules Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for off-campus practices, trainings, and competitions Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture Required Qualifications 2-4 years of coaching experience in alpine skiing, preferably at the club or collegiate level Availability throughout the academic year, particularly during the winter session PSIA and AASI Level 1, 2, or 3 certifications Preferred Qualifications CPR certification Work Schedule

Part-time, weekday evenings, weekends, travel for off-campus practices/trainings and competitions.

Hourly Range

The hourly range for the position is $20.00-$30.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
