Requisition Summary
The National Fleet Service Manager position requires comprehensive Class 7/8 chassis and engine knowledge gained through five years minimum experience in Field Service, Dealership Service or Operations or Customer Service management, excellent organization skills and superior communication skills, both written and verbal. Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities, the ability to maintain composure, and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders is critical to success in this position.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Provide truck Uptime service support and provide creative solutions to issues in the field.
Offer technical and account support to our National Sales team and lead quarter meetings at assigned fleets to promote communications of National Account initiatives.
Negotiate Warranty and Policy settlements with Fleets and Dealers on engine and chassis issues.
Provide early warning corrective action feedback and field solutions to chassis and engine issues to reduce fleet operational and warranty costs.
Work with the Fleet Accounts to continually improve systems and information to ensure technicians are adequately trained and certified on all Peterbilt products.
Assist in the management of field cases related to litigations, property loss and other legal actions affecting Peterbilt and PACCAR as assigned.
Travel 50%.
Skills / Competencies
Five years or more of related experience preferred
Communicate clearly and professionally with Fleet Management and Operations Personnel, Suppliers and Peterbilt management to resolve issues in a positive and efficient manner.
Strong interpersonal skills are required.
Demonstrate independent judgment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, keep management well informed, and display perseverance in bringing issues to resolution.
Technical Skills required include experience in the following areas with Peterbilt or similar products and systems.
Knowledge of Peterbilt Product and MX Engine:
Cab Systems (Mechanical and Electrical)
Chassis Systems (Mechanical and Electrical)
Aftertreatment Systems
Engine Electronic Diagnostic experience
Engine Mechanical troubleshooting and fault code interpretation
Familiarity with Peterbilt Systems or similar systems to the following:
Dealer Warranty Claims/Service Information Record
E-Portal / DealerNet
ServiceNet, ECAT, Engine Rapido, DAVIE tool diagnostics
Familiarity with Supplier Systems:
Cummins – RapidServe & QSOL (Quick Serve On-Line) (on-line product support)
Eaton – Real Time (product support system)
Education
A bachelor's degree in a technical field or related field is required.
