Aerotek is Hiring a General Labourer

Job Description

This is a project-based position for 2+ months with the potential opportunity to go long-term for the right candidate. The role involves performing various general labor duties in a shipyard environment.

Pay

• $20-$22/hour

Shift

• 7AM-3:30PM

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks such as bottom painting, stripping, sanding, pressure washing, and other general labor duties.

• Detail cleaning inside the boats.

• Work with catalyzed chemicals such as epoxy and fiberglass resin.

• Spend 90% of the time working in the yard and 10% indoors.

Essential Skills

• 1+ year of experience as a general laborer in fields such as decks, construction, or other physical labor jobs.

• Experience with power tools.

• Ability to follow directions and be trainable.

• Comfortable wearing a respirator and able to be clean-shaven to pass a fit test.

• Comfortable working outdoors, mostly under tented areas.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with catalyzed chemicals such as epoxy and fiberglass resin.

• Marine industry experience.

• Skills in carpentry, joinery, cabinet assembly, manufacturing, and building.

• Familiarity with hand tools, finish carpentry, blueprint reading, and commercial construction.

Work Environment

Work primarily within the shipyard outdoors or within enclosed bays. The standard shift is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
