Sevita Area Director - Delran, NJ Region in Delran, New Jersey

SUMMARY

Manages the operations within a market within state(s). Provides direction, leadership and supervision of professional and other staff at the program site to carry out operations and ensure quality services to individual served. Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:

  • Manages the operations within an assigned market or service line. Provides direction, leadership and supervision of professional and other staff at the program site to carry out operations and ensure quality services to individuals served.

  • Responsible for financial performance of the area business unit, reviews financial statements, oversees purchasing, assures billing compliance and documentation efficiencies.

  • Implements area core growth strategy in partnership with the Business Development to increase census, maximize utilization and occupancy percentages, and assists with new start development as appropriate.

  • Maintains and fosters relations with case managers and referral agents; participates in building relationships on behalf of individuals served.

  • Implements area strategies to maintain and foster relations with individual served, families and guardians; and implements satisfaction enhancement plans as appropriate

  • Oversees area quality enhancement and implementation plan, coordinating Sevita standards, licensing requirements and individuals served, and reviews area incident reporting.

  • Implements area incident management protocol; ensures timely incident reporting and implementation of corrective action; and assists with area investigations.

  • Oversees development and implementation of area health and safety programs for consumers and employees; and supervises area nurses as applicable.

  • Maintains area compliance with Sevita and regulatory standards for clean, neat, safe living and working environments; and assures pleasant, age-appropriate, well-decorated home-like residential living environments; and directs area maintenance.

  • Provides leadership including direct supervision of Program Directors or other staff; works with regional support team; implements Sevita employee practices; oversees area safety and workers’ compensation implementation; approves area involuntary terminations and reviews written warnings; and assists with employee orientation and training programs.

  • Maintains compliance for area services and supports; oversees area implementation of Sevita compliance plan; and assists with correction orders and over-sees implementation of compliance plans.

  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs and supervises Program Directors, DONs, Administrators, Clinical Supervisors and assigned staff including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and three to six years of related experience with significant management experience in the human services industry

  • Master’s degree in Human Services, other education and experience as required by state

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Licensure as required by state

Strongly Preferred:

  • ALS/ALF or other Administrator license

  • Clinical background (LPN/LVN, RN)

  • Travel as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
