POSITION: DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING (NON-PROFIT)

LOCATION: DEERFIELD, MA (HYBRID - 3-4 Days in Office / 1-2 Days Remote)

We are seeking a Director of Accounting with proven experience in the Non-Profit industry for our valued client near Deerfield, Massachusetts. This role plays a pivotal part on the Leadership team of the organization and will act as the lead financial person for the organization, reporting directly into Chief Leadership. The Director of Accounting will provide strategic financial support various areas of the operation and help create, manage, analyze and maintain budgets, forecasts and financial statements in addition to managing the day-to-day accounting function and liaising with outside auditors and banks. Our Client is seeking a proven leader with experience mentoring and training staff.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting functions and ensure their alignment with the company's business goals.

• Use Accounting Software Systems to manage financial data and transactions.

• Liaise with Financial Services providers such as ADP to manage accounts and transactions.

• Utilize Concur for travel and expense management.

• Ensure compliance with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) regulations.

• Implement and manage ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems to streamline accounting operations.

• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure timely and accurate processing.

• Conduct regular auditing to ensure financial compliance and accuracy.

• Oversee and manage budgeting processes, making necessary adjustments to align with the company's financial objectives.

• Utilize expertise in accounting to contribute to the company's financial planning and decision-making processes.

Requirements

• BS in Accounting / Finance, CPA / MBA preferred

• 7+ Years of career experience, including at least 3+ years in a leadership position

• Non-Profit Industry experience, local government/municipality experience a plus

• Knowledge of reporting for federal and state grants

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and strong MS Excel skills

• Deep understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proven skills in Auditing

• Strong experience with Budgeting

• Excellent Communication and Presentation skills
