AltairStrickland is looking for a full-time HRIS Manager , at our Corporate Office in La Porte Texas. This position will report directly to the AltairStrickland Holdings (ASH) Director HR-RISK and will be eligible to participate in the Company’s sponsored health insurance plans (medical, dental, vision) insured life, 401 (k), and disability plans effective the first day of the month following the date of employment.

Additionally, the successful candidate receives Paid Time Off (PTO) at time of hire, as approved for utilization by their respective manager, without having to accrue time to obtain the PTO benefit. SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

The position manages the Company’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS) activities for AltairStrickland Holdings, LLC (ASH) and its operating subsidiaries’ as well as provides comprehensive analytical and technical administrative support to the staff and users of the systems. Collaborates with executive leadership and HR staff to identify needed improvements and enhancements to existing information services and databases, as well as recommends and implements solutions for the respective entities. Works to maintain the integrity and reliability of the organization’s HRIS ensuring applications meet the needs, requirements, and objectives of the Departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees and maintains optimal function of the organization’s internal HR information services systems, which may include database management, network support, installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrades to applications and systems.

  • Assesses current system and utilization; identifies and recommends improvements such as training, customization, and enhancements to maximize value and efficiency of the HRIS.

  • Support and be responsive to both setting priorities and resolving issues consistent with Company standards, policies, and procedures, as well as complying with governing DOL regulations and or law such as HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, FLSA, EEOC, E-Verify, etc.

  • Oversees/maintains internal database files, tables, codes, backup files, integrity, and security.

  • Installs, implements, modifies, and upgrades software and applications to meet changing business and technology.

  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to Company employees.

  • Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HR services users.

  • Programs custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, macros, and reports as well as develop, maintain, generate, and analyze an assortment of reports and statistical summaries as needed by management.

  • Serves as lead representative and liaison between HR, Information Services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HR database design and implementation projects.

  • Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements, as well performs regular data audits to ensure data accuracy and implement any data corrections.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in data management and security, HR technology, and HRIS applications.

  • Oversees the procurement of appropriate hardware and software to ensure that the organization has high quality, efficient systems.

  • Prepares reports and presents findings and recommendations to the HR director and other company leaders.

  • Collaborates with other analysts and HRIS staff to plan, modify, and customize the HRIS and to test new applications and features.

  • Prepares training materials, guides, and documentation, as well as provides user training and hands-on support.

  • Identify process improvements throughout all areas of responsibility.

  • Participate in projects and/or contribute as a team member on assigned projects; create and monitor project plans.

  • Engage in regular internal employee feedback by initiating and responding to questions and requests.

  • Support all technical needs of the company as relates to the Human Resources Information System as well as acts as the liaison between HR and IT departments.

  • Performs other duties and functions as required and or directed.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

The position reports directly to the Director Human Resources-RISK and has reporting responsibilities to other Executives of the Company as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

A B.S./B.A. in Informational Technology or Human Resource Management is desirable. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems, and Administrative systems is necessary, preferably performed within a similar industrial concept that is designed to support a transient/remote workforce with a paperless on-boarding and off-boarding process. An individual with a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certificate, such as a SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, or similar certification, is beneficial to insure the individual has familiarity with human resources policies, procedures and Department of Labor (DOL) regulations to ensure the HRIS meets organization needs, compliance requirements and company goals.

Must have strong process, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to research and analyze data to diagnose and resolve system issues. Must understand and have knowledge of various HRIS software platforms and administration practices/procedures associated with data integrity and functionality. Requires excellent interpersonal and technical support skills along with good communication skills, both orally and in writing, to work with executives, co-workers and subordinates in resolving and or transferring knowledge of HRIS functions and or processes. Good leadership skills and proactive decision making and problem solving is necessary. Effective planning, priority setting, and the ability to oversee multiple tasks, along with attention to details are critical to the positions’ success.

Utilization of computer skills to navigate multiple office programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite or related software is essential with an expert skill level in the utilization of Excel is a priority.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Although the majority of activities will be performed at the home office, some travel by airplane and automobile in conducting business may be necessary. Ability to communicate orally with customers, management and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.

Activities include but are not limited to extended periods of sitting, extensive work at a computer work station, and some extended work days greater than standard business hours may be required. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.

No manual heavy lifting is expected, without utilization of appropriate equipment. Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines. Also included is the ability to open and close common business filing cabinets.

Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems. Able to apply statistical calculations, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory as well as algebra, linear equations, and other analytics as required. Able to understand and utilize financial reports and legal documents to conduct business.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting and is typically performed between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM during a standard business workday, or similar flex hours, with break times and meal opportunities provided. These hours may vary based on workflow and project necessities on any given week, based on activities of your respective job scope. Occasionally it may be necessary to complete critical path activities or time sensitive documents during nonstandard business hours. It is possible that the Company may request you to travel if business needs warrant the request in which all travel and or out-of-town expenses will be provided or covered by the Company.
