Material Management Platform is a multi-year transformation initiative aimed at transforming Ford’s Material Requirement Planning & Inventory Management capabilities. This is part of a larger Industrial Systems IT Transformation effort. This position is responsible for the S/4 HANA Production Planning module including PPDS.

As the S/4 HANA PP/PPDS Specialist, you will lead different aspects of the end-to-end delivery, work with a large cross-functional team, Systems integrator, manufacturing business subject matter experts, and IT leads from numerous integrating systems.

* This is a hybrid position, and the SAP Production Planning Specialist will collaborate with colleagues and teams in our Dearborn, MI office *

What you’ll be able to do:

  • Understand the current business process across all regions/plants.

  • Understand the functionality of current Legacy Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and associated upstream and downstream systems.

  • Work with various stakeholders to study the transformation of current process/legacy systems to industry-best standards/technology/ systems focusing on the SAP PP module including PPDS and iPPE functionalities.

  • Perform requirements Gathering, Business Analysis, and Fit-Gap/ Fit-to-Standard Analysis to understand the as-is/to-be states and identify key functionalities /process gaps.

  • Recommend possible technology/process solutions to address gaps.

  • Support user acceptant testing, cutover activities, data migration, and go-live support.

  • Hands-on experience in S/4 HANA PPDS or SAP APO with knowledge in Product Heuristics, Planning Table, Mix Model Planning, Sequencing, Detailed Scheduling Board, Pegging, and Product/Resource/Location Master data integration.

  • Knowledge of iPPE access node, Product Structure, Process Structure, Factory Layout, and Production Version creation in iPPE.

  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with Ford’s internal S/4 HANA Platform team.

  • Working closely with management to prioritize business goals and information needs.

  • Stay current on SAP trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • 6+ years of functional/technical experience with SAP PP with skills including:

  • Deployment experience.

  • Experience in the Automotive / Manufacturing industry

  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing business processes, and optimization within S/4 HANA PPDS and IPPE

  • Experienced in at least 2 full life cycles of S/4HANA and Fiori implementation.

Our preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field

  • Overall SAP S/4Hana knowledge

  • Industry process knowledge, solution expertise, and consultation skills in SAP S/4HANA.

  • SAP PP integration with other modules MM, IM, QM

  • Experience in integrating with upstream/downstream systems like PLM, MDG, MES, etc…

  • Strong knowledge of planning processes Make-to-Stock, Make-to-Order, Configure-to-Order.

  • Experience working in a global team and an onshore/offshore team model.

  • Experience working with a Systems Integrator

  • Strong project management skills with effective communication and collaboration

  • Respect and empathy for team members, business partners, and product customer

  • Excellent at problem-solving and prevention.

  • Knowledge of software design patterns

  • Knowledge and practical experience in agile delivery

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver product roadmap milestones.
