About the role

The Master Planner will engage with the broader team of internal and external design professionals, and alongside strategic consultants to ensure the projects advance in alignment with corporate strategies and design standards, to deliver best in class campus environments.

You will focus on ensuring that a comprehensive view is completed for each project and to evaluate all aspects, providing guidance and direction to align with the overarching campus development plan. This role must ensure that the complexities of each project request are considered within the overall corporate needs with a future forward mindset and evaluating any potential changes necessary to the strategic corporate vision for facilities and campus environments. This role helps develop strategies in the areas of Architecture, Site, Mobility, Sustainability, and Experience, seeking to improve the daily experience of employees, visitors and guests.

You will also work in a capacity outside of corporate environments, acting as a liaison for regional developments with neighboring business, communities, and local municipalities.

Development work within this role focuses on creating a mutually helpful outcome that takes into account corporate needs and the relationship with the surrounding community building the best in public private partnerships and overall community stewardship. The scale and complexity of our client’s project utilize a variety of development methods including public-private partnerships, joint ventures, private alliances, and community engagements. Master Planning projects span from new construction on greenfield sites, to redevelopment, demolition and overall portfolio rightsizing.

Our client maintains a vast portfolio of environment types, including: Commercial office, Corporate C-Suites, Research and Development, Lab and Testing, Retail and Dealerships, Manufacturing, Shipping and Distribution supporting operations. The master planning team also engages in third-party real-estate ventures spanning from ground-up development, adaptive re-use and redevelopment, third-party office design, and mixed-use tenant space design, and must ensure alignment with counterparts in the architecture, interior design and real-estate.

What you'll do

  • Engage in various master plan project requests and ensure alignment of architectural and site improvement projects with the broader campus and global corporate design strategies

  • Provide ongoing governance, evaluation, and re-design of campus master plans for the global portfolio

  • Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate development conditions of corporate properties and new program requests

  • Evaluate emerging opportunities for strategic redevelopment

  • Coordinate internal departments, bridging the needs of our clients corporate properties and improving performance of the third party real-estate portfolio

  • Act as a liaison for the company, engaging in regional development opportunities with neighboring institutions, public sectors and local community agencies

  • Provide a conduit between working project teams and the local municipality, acting as a steward and single point of contact for the projects.

  • Develop and implement strategies in the areas of Architecture, Site, Mobility, Sustainability and Experience within the campus environments

  • Coordinate internal and external project design consultants on mid-size to large projects domestically and internationally, exceeding $10 Million in construction cost

  • Make critical decisions as it relates to campus master planning

  • Work closely with internal and external project stakeholders to capture comments and drive development

  • Prioritize the focus on human well-being and overall project sustainable best practices within the design process

  • Create and maintain 3D mapping of the corporate portfolio

  • Act as a steward for current and historic campus development visions

  • Maintain ongoing programing information for the various skill teams within the campus environments

  • Create and maintain 3D mapping and graphic content to articulate development strategies

  • Maintain ongoing development of campus masterplans including development and upkeep of corporate design guidelines

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of proven experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. NCIDQ or NCARB certification preferred.

  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Interpersonal skills with a sophisticated inquisitive attitude.

  • Strong Communication Skills (both written and oral)

  • Highly skilled with software systems used for content creation including: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In-Design, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel (charting/graphically communicate numeric information), Microsoft Word, Miro, and Bluescape

  • Moderate skills in manipulation of 3D graphics and renderings created in Sketchup, Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3DSMax or other 3D rendering software.

  • Proficiency in construction document systems including: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk AutoCAD, Archibus, Microsoft Project and BIM360.

  • Proficiency in portfolio mapping. Skillsets in ESRI and other portfolio mapping tools preferred.

  • Ability to work within a fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment

  • Self-starter, able to coordinate a vast array of projects with varying timelines, managing the project team and reporting out to leadership.

  • Ability communicate strategy, design and intent through multi-media information and graphics

  • Financial and business acumen to maximize benefits/returns to the company

  • Discipline in working with highly confidential information

  • Ability to work within Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Webex Teams, Miro, and similar digital content sharing platforms
