The Electrified Systems Engineering (ESE) organization is responsible for delivering the best Battery Electric vehicles in every segment in which we compete. Consistently delivering the best customer vehicle value and profitability by delivering optimal battery energy capability and quality. Your duties would include:
Design high voltage (e.g., 400 – 800V) battery electrical distribution systems for Ford’s next generation vehicles in the early stages of a program’s conception
Design the overall electrical distribution hardware system between the high voltage battery and the rest of the vehicle leveraging compatible, and potentially driving new, electrical subsystems, wiring, connectors, and modules
Work closely with the high voltage electrical system architecture team and drive proper hardware selection delivering overall high voltage vehicle subsystem electrical requirements
Negotiate & deliver vehicle high voltage electrical design elements, functions, and requirements
Drive & align on design for assembly / service in close partnership with the manufacturing / customer service teams
Lead regular and frequent team meetings about the high voltage vehicle electrical architecture & design, driving the agendas, delegating tasks to team members, and resolving issues quickly
Leverage high voltage vehicle electrical benchmarking learnings
Present design status to functional & program leadership
The minimum requirements we seek
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electrical or equivalent
3+ years of academic or industry experience in electrified vehicles, electrified powertrain and high voltage battery design
Proven ability to lead a team in the delivery of program objectives
Demonstrated technical leadership in Systems Engineering
Excellent teamwork, communication, presentation, and analytical skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Able to work under operational pressures and to set priorities
Our preferred requirements
Master’s Degree in Engineering
5+ years of academic or industry experience in electrified vehicles, electrified powertrain and high voltage battery design
Design and Release experience
CAD Design experience
