The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.
We are seeking a Category Buyer to oversee the procurement and management of the Bearings, Carriers, and Grounding Devices commodities for Electric Vehicles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing category strategies, conducting supplier negotiations, and ensuring on-time sourcing and delivery of high-quality products. The Category Buyer will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide strategic sourcing solutions to meet business objectives.

Develop and implement category strategies for the commodities which optimize cost, quality, delivery, resiliency, and overall supplier performance.
Conduct supplier evaluations and negotiations to secure competitive pricing and terms.
Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any issues that may arise.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and provide sourcing solutions that align with business goals.
Monitor market trends, industry developments, and relevant material indices to identify opportunities for cost savings and product improvements.
What you'll do...
Analyze and report on key performance indicators, such as cost savings, supplier quality, supplier resiliency, and supplier delivery.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all sourcing activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance overall procurement efficiency.
Lead and drive sourcing strategy for commodities across Ford and Lincoln electric vehicles including RFI/RFQ activities.
Develop a deep understanding of the cost structure and challenge supplier and key stakeholder assumptions to achieve best in class costs.
Onboarding new suppliers to Ford processes including evaluation of end-to-end supply chain readiness.
Promote transparency and management of entire supply chain value stream with suppliers.
Develop and present clear and concise strategies to senior level leadership.
You'll have...
Bachelor’s Degree.
3+ years of purchasing, procurement, and/or sourcing experience.
Ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision-making and present clear recommendations to peers, suppliers and executive leadership.
Conduct sourcing evaluations / business case studies (e.g., landed cost studies, component tooling optimizations, quality costs evaluations).
Ability to build network relationships with cross-functional skill teams (Engineering, STA, Finance, Studio, and OGC).
Skills necessary to prioritize assignments and multitask to achieve goals.
Ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision-making and present clear recommendations to peers, and executive leadership.

5+ years of purchasing, procurement, and/or sourcing experience.
Project Management skills and process discipline.
Examples of leading a collaborative team and finding and implementing efficiencies.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SAP skills a plus.
