Panasonic North America Security Investigator in De Soto, Kansas

Overview

The Security Investigator conducts risk-related investigations, reports to the Security Management team at Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America, and assists with physical security projects as needed. This role includes responding to security events, conducting investigations, and presenting results to management using various tools and techniques.

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

The Security Investigator will conduct risk related investigations and report to Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America Security Management. The Investigator will be responsible for responding to events, conducting thorough investigations, and presenting timely results to management. The role will require the regular use of video management tools, access control systems, interview techniques, and intelligence gathering. The Investigator will also assist security management with physical security projects as needed.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform investigations and deliver professionally written results through industry-recognized reporting.

  • Report findings to and support Human Resources Business Partners within a reasonable timeline.

  • Conduct face-to-face interviews with witnesses, complainants, and persons of interest.

  • Coordinate and conduct physical security and crime prevention programs, which may include operations security and facility security programs, security surveys/inspections, and emergency planning in support of the facility.

  • Manage, compile, report, and review statistical data and recommend mitigating actions in line with trends.

  • Liaise with local authorities as needed in support of investigations.

  • Coordinate physical security measures with Safety, Facility, Production, and Human Resource representatives.

  • Manage multiple different workflows and execute key long-term strategic initiatives and projects.

  • Stay abreast of current investigative standards, best practices, technologies, and other resources.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Intelligence Gathering:

  • Develop and implement strategies for gathering intelligence related to potential threats and security risks.

  • Monitor open-source information, social media, and other platforms to identify potential threats.

  • Maintain and disseminate intelligence reports to relevant stakeholders.

  • Threat Identification and Analysis:

  • Identify and assess threats to the organization’s personnel, assets, and operations.

  • Conduct threat assessments and provide actionable insights to mitigate risks.

  • Work with security teams to develop and implement effective countermeasures.

  • Fraud Investigation:

  • Investigate cases of internal and external fraud, including financial fraud and identity theft.

  • Collaborate with finance and legal departments to gather evidence and support prosecution efforts.

  • Implement anti-fraud measures and conduct audits to detect and prevent fraud.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

  • Basic/Required: High School Diploma or GED

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must have experience with Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, and Video Surveillance Systems

  • 2+ years of investigative experience in corporate or manufacturing settings

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Formal interview training

  • Demonstrate ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments, and effectively manage deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior business leadership

  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

  • Prior law enforcement or military police experience

  • Project management experience

  • Relevant certifications
