The Kaizen Company Deputy Project Director (MMAIF) in DC, United States

Kaizen is searching for a Deputy Project Director for the anticipated USAID Managing Market Access and Innovative Finance (MMAIF) activity. The purpose of the activity is for USAID to acquire support service and technical assistance on a range of market access and innovative financing activities to improve global health outcomes.

Duties

The Deputy Project Director will support the Project Director in managing the day-to-day project operations, including the project’s administration, logistics, procurement, budgeting, and financial accounting (financial accounting responsibilities may include cash flow management, timesheet recording and daily monitoring of obligations, budgets, and expenditures). The Deputy Project Director will ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with USAID regulations, procedures, and with the scope of the project.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in international development, including the management of finance and operations for project of similar size and complexity. 

  • Demonstrated familiarity with USAID FAR, ADS, and other operational guidance including human resources, financial management, financial reporting, and procurement processes, systems, and grants management. 

  • Proven experience leading start-up/close-out and procurement for multi-country, USAID-funded programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with senior U.S. and foreign government officials. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, international development, economics, or business administration or a related field. (Advanced degree preferred).

  • Fluency in English oral and written communication.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
