Job Description:

The DuPont Electronic Polymers plant is seeking a full-time Quality Control Chemist. The site produces polymers in batch reactors that are used in a variety of semiconductor applications, including photolithography and semiconductor packaging. The Quality Control Chemist will support the direction and objectives to meet and expand the quality requirements at the Dayton, Ohio facility. The role will be responsible not only for running test equipment, but also analyzing the results and performing necessary experiments in the laboratory environments.

This position will help to ensure consistently high quality of our materials, to ensure smooth, seamless supply to our customers. And will also work to strengthen our testing capability and methods for our incoming materials.

The Quality Control Chemist will be expected to interact fully with R&D, Analytical Sciences, Process Development Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure success. And being a strong asset during troubleshooting exercises in case of material quality or supply upsets. The role is expected to collaborate as part of a global team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the quality requirements for ISO9001:2015 and other quality standards are implemented and maintained at the Dayton Plant.

  • Select and utilize proper analytical techniques (LC, GC, GPC, ICP, NMR, etc.) and support improvement for both incoming and outbound quality control inspections linked to customer KPI’s and Quality Goals.

  • Incorporate and uses statistical analysis of property data to assesses the capability to meet customer specifications and expectations (SQC, SPC) to solve complex technical problems.

  • Develop, validate, and document new analytical methods.

  • Lead and/or participate in multifunctional teams for investigation of internal and external (customer complaints) quality non-conformances and determine appropriate corrective action by coordinating team using tools such as 5 Why, FMEA’s, Root Cause Analysis, etc. and ensure actions are effective.

  • Communicate results effectively to stakeholders and other interested parties.

  • Fulfill all requirements of group, site, and company safety, ethics and quality programs.

  • Support quality training, as needed, for new and existing employees.

  • Effectively balance workloads to meet business priorities while functioning in a multi-project environment.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Analytical Chemistry (M.S. in Analytical Chemistry preferred)

  • Experience with a wide range of analytical techniques, including but not limited to GPC, GC, LC, ICP, NMR using a variety of detectors where appropriate.

  • Preferred experience working in the semiconductor or chemical field.

  • Proficient in statistical software (Minitab or JMP) and use of Microsoft programs (Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.

  • Ability to understand the quality standard relevant to the industry requirements (i.e. ISO 9001:2015) and the controls necessary to achieve and maintain compliance with the standards as appropriate.

  • Problem solving skills and exposure to quality tools (ex. SPC, 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA)

  • Delivers clear and succinct oral and written messages and able to make complex messages clear both internally and to our global customers.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills as to drive quality improvements. Required competencies: bias for action, integrity, judgement, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, solid time management skills, fluent communication and teamwork.
