Dayton Children's Hospital Manager, Social Work in Dayton, Ohio

Facility:Dayton Children's - Main CampusDepartment:Social Care ServicesSchedule:Full timeHours:40Job Details:The Manager of Social Care Services is responsible for the overall management, supervision, and operations of social work services throughout the hospital system within the Department of Integrated Care. Ensures services are focused on the social, emotional, and physical health of children and adolescents, and delivered in a patient-focused manner based upon the wholistic approach of care. This position will align with the Manager for Integrated Care and report directly to the Director of Social Care Services. Will work closely with other members of the Nursing and Medical division, as well as including but not limited to, Quality and Safety, Partners for Kids, Center for Health Equity, Behavioral Health, Community and other Ambulatory services to ensure care coordination and transitions of care are implemented across the continuum of services.

The Manager prepares budgets, hires, and trains staff, implements policies and procedures, develops yearly goals, and participates in the development of a strategic plan for care innovation at Dayton Children’s and our region in collaboration with key hospital personnel. The Manager develops programs, monitors outcome measures, and ensures compliance with all Joint Commission and regulatory agencies’ requirements for the provision of services. Participates with other leaders within the organization to provide the framework for care coordination of timely/necessary medical care, discharge planning, utilization management, and community referrals. Focuses on improving health care services that are responsive to community and patient needs and improve patient health outcomes in concert with the hospital mission.

The Manager also supports education/training, coaching, and supervision to staff, working closely with them to achieve outstanding outcomes in clinical care and patient satisfaction. Educates the patient and family to improve patient health outcomes and appropriately involves them in their care and healthcare decisions.

Education:

• Master’s Degree

Experience:

• Healthcare experience is preferred

• Managerial or leadership experience is preferred

Certification/Licensure:

• LISW-S is required
