Facility:Dayton Children's - South CampusDepartment:Emergency Department - South CampusSchedule:Part timeHours:24Job Details:Patient Access Representatives provide customer-service coverage and assume the responsibility for successful financial outcomes of all patient services. Under the general supervision of the Patient Access Manager, this position performs imperative duties, which may include, but not limited to appointment scheduling, registration, transcribing orders, insurance verification, telephone coverage, data entry, filing protected health information (PHI), patient referrals, and payment collection, while maintaining patient relations, customer satisfaction, and Dayton Children’s Hospital financial solvency.

Department Specific Job Details:

This position would schedule patients into a variety of specialty clinics and/or testing areas, coordinate pre-access process, register at point of service and collect point of service payments due. The HUC would assist established patients in rescheduling appointments and setting up follow-up appointments as appropriate, process cancellations, working to fill openings to help clinics maintain a high fill rate. This positions collaborates with patient access staff and other departments within the hospital as well as community practitioners' offices to efficiently and courteously facilitate access to hospital services. The HUC would educate patients on location of appropriate registration area, the necessity of bringing all pertinent information regarding coverage and benefits related to their visits in addition to their financial obligations so that they arrive prepared.
