Facility:Work From Home - OhioDepartment:Schedule:Full timeHours:40Job Details:Under general supervision of the Coding Supervisor, the Inpatient Coder supports Dayton Children's goals for reimbursement through accurate and timely diagnosis and procedural coding of inpatient, observation, and outpatient surgery records. This includes the examination and interpretation of the electronic medical documentation to assign and report the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes for the services provided for clean claim submission.

Education
High school diploma/GED required
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
Experience
1-2 years coding experience required
3-4 years coding experience preferred
Pediatric experience helpful
Certifications
CCS required or must obtain within 6 months of employment
RHIT/RHIA or eligible preferred
Skills/Competencies
Knowledge of automated workflow applications and processes
Computer skills
Oral and written communication
Medical and non-medical terminology
Anatomy and physiology
Critical thinking skills
Experience with 3M encoder
EPIC experience
Education Requirements:
Associates, Bachelors, High School (Required)
Certification/License Requirements:
[Cert] CCS: Certified Coding Specialist - American Health Information Management Association
