Acosta Group Accounting Specialist Sr in Dayton, Ohio

DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Accounting Specialist is responsible for processing financial transactions promptly and accurately and assisting the Staff Accountant in maintaining accurate financial records for the business unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions of this Position

  • Responsible for all accounts payable processing after invoice approval, including invoice data entry through check printing. Ensure appropriate supporting documents are saved properly.

  • Responsible for accurately recording all incoming inventory, including review of warehouse paperwork, and requesting re-counts as needed. Ensure appropriate supporting documents are saved properly.

  • Process sales invoices and drop ship paperwork as needed.

  • Responsible for promptly and accurately recording customer payments and resolving any shipping discrepancies that arise during the application process. This may include follow-up with customer warehouses or requesting spot counts in our warehouse.

  • Use customer portals to retrieve payment and deduction details, and file claims for deductions as needed.

  • Process customer deductions as prepared by the global cash team, and research and resolve any discrepancies, including dispute deductions with customer when needed. Maintain and reconcile the deduction workbook.

  • Assist with general ledger recordings, including journal entry preparation, various Excel spreadsheets, calculation of monthly accruals, and monthly account reconciliations.

  • Assist with monthly account reconciliations and compiling backup for same.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education and Work Experience

  • Associate Degree preferred

  • Five years accounts receivables experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements

  • Have good problem solving skills

  • High degree of accuracy

  • Must be proficient in Excel, be a team player, be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects
