Restaurant Server Position Purpose:

To ensure guest satisfaction by presenting a positive impression of the restaurant's friendliness, excellent service and high standards. Serves guests in a pleasant and expeditious manner according to company standards and protocols.

Restaurant Server Essential Duties:

• Greets guests in a friendly manner after being seated.
• Answer questions about menu items including ingredients, preparation and accompaniments.
• Takes guest beverage and food order accurately, repeats for clarification when necessary.
• Rings up order in the Micros system quickly and accurately using appropriate abbreviations and charges.
• Delivers food expeditiously ensuring food is served at the appropriate temperature with the correct accompaniments and garnishes.
• Checks back with guests to ensure maximum satisfaction.
• Employs suggestive selling techniques to increase guest check average and sales.
• Reports any perceived guest dissatisfaction or product deficiencies to Manager-on-Duty in a timely manner. Takes prompt corrective action when appropriate.
• Observes guests to respond to any needs throughout their dining experience.
• Maintains table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, and removing clutter.
• Totals guest check and presents upon removal of final plates.

Restaurant Server Requirements:

• Must be able to record guest orders in writing using pencil/pen and paper.
• Basic understanding of guest service required.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Previous server experience preferred.
