Job Summary
The Radiology Modality Manager serves as the modality technical expert for the system and is responsible for providing system wide oversight of assigned modality including: patient safety, process improvement, quality, regulatory, consistency and standardization of imaging protocols, staff competencies & training, modality policies, equipment, and supplies in collaboration with Radiology Team Leaders, Radiology Operations Managers, and Physician modality chief(s). The modality manager also provides for daily management for assigned modality locations. rounding required at Geisinger Locations
Job Duties
Day to day management and supervision for assigned imaging modality and locations including human resources management; operations; relationship development; financial/budget management; legal and regulatory compliance; strategic planning; staff productivity, and capital equipment planning and installation oversight, space planning,
Ensures that all imaging studies are performed by qualified and competent staff, are of the highest quality achievable and follow the radiation safety principles of ALARA, ACR Guidelines for MRI Safety, and/or other applicable professional organization guidelines.
Works collaboratively and in partnership with operations managers and team leaders to ensure consistent practices across all modality locations including Inpatient, ED, and Outpatient services.
Ensures compliance with system and departmental policies and procedures. Works directly with team leaders and/or operations managers to resolve problems, workflow, customer service and human resource issues.
Implements new initiatives, programs and policies. Manages modality quality program.
Collaborates with the radiology management team, physicians, and staff to ensure the best possible patient experience while maintaining departmental standards for cost effective care, safety, quality, service, and teamwork.
Manages, oversees, maintains and improves business functions and processes for the modality.
Manages ACR accreditation for the modality.

Position Details
In lieu of bachelor’s degree, 8 years of relevant experience plus 4 years of leadership experience will be considered as equivalency to degree.
Required Certifications or Licensures (one of the following is required upon hire):
American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or
Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or ARRT(N) (for Nuclear Medicine/PET Manager) or
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or ARRT(S)
Specialty Registry in at least one of the following within 24 months of hire, if applicable to area being supervised:
ARRT M
ARRT CT
ARRT MRI
ARRT CV or VI or CI
ARRT S
Education
Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Medical Imaging (Required), Bachelor's Degree- (Required)
Experience
Minimum of 6 years-Related work experience (Required), Minimum of 7 years-Leadership (Preferred)
