Geisinger Chief Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Danville, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

Coordinates CRNA activities including practice issues, performance improvement projects, and other duties to optimize total patient care and employee satisfaction. Provides input for information technology, materials management, surgical suite facility needs, equipment needs, clinical use evaluation, billing, budget, financial management, operational analysis, and reporting. Facilitates and drives a continuous process for identification and implementation of operational performance improvements throughout the anesthesia service line. Coordinates CRNA recruitment and retention; provides support to the Director. Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the unit and has direct oversight of CRNAs.

Job Duties

  • Handles strategic planning, utilization management, and implementation.

  • Coordinates with the Clinical Coordinators regarding department management, initiatives and goals related to Education and Orientation, Performance Improvement and Quality, Materials and Equipment, and Policies, Procedures and Best Practices.

  • Represents CRNA's on committees and within the Anesthesiology leadership team and works collaboratively to meet the department goals.

  • Monitors and maintains optimal patient and employee satisfaction survey results.

  • Participates in conflict resolution and reviews all critical events with clinical coordinators.

  • Mentors clinical coordinators and staff.

  • Monitors staffing, employee management, and financial performance.

  • Assists in the analysis and evaluation of labor to improve department operations and performance.

  • Provides recommendations on staffing and personnel issues and assists in finalizing the schedule.

  • Assists with developing capital and operational budgets for approval by department leaders.

  • Monitors the facility's financial and operating results on an ongoing basis, documents the need for changes in staffing and operational budgets, and makes recommendations to meet financial goals and objectives.

  • Acts as a liaison to Human Resources for all HR related processes, including but not limited to recruitment, training, performance, etc.

  • Performs duties associated with Payroll approval of assigned personnel.

  • Assists in developing and implementing department and service line policies.

  • Manages and participates in research of peer review medical data and industry standards and protocols.

Education

Master's Degree-Nursing (Required)

Experience

Minimum of 3 years-Related work experience (Required), Minimum of 1 year-Managerial/Supervisory (Preferred)

Certification(s) and License(s)

Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body; Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania; Licensed Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - Default Issuing Body
