Eliot Community Human Services provides a wide range of community based services for individuals and families of all ages in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities, early intervention, counseling, substance abuse and youth programming. Responsibilities:

  • Perform personal care and health-related services on/to consumers including but not limited to bathing, grooming and toileting

  • Provide adjunct care by assisting nurse as instructed

  • Provide assistance to consumers with maintaining all areas related to activities of daily living. This includes but is not limited to: personal hygiene, maintaining clean living environment, grocery shopping, managing finances, etc. Assist consumers with building skills in this area.

  • Perform housekeeping and shopping tasks as needed

  • Provide interventions and support related to recovery and independence in all environments. Assist team members in providing support to consumers to achieve independence and rehabilitation.

  • Provide assistance to consumers related to transportation to daily activities, appointments, or as needed/directed by supervisor.

  • Be able to recognize and respond to symptoms of mental illness and/or emotional distress. Assist consumers with identifying and utilizing coping skills as needed

Requirements:

  • Valid Massachusetts CNA certification

  • Valid driver's license & reliable vehicle

  • Ideally prior experience working with adults having severe and persistent mental illness

    Compensation: $20/hr.
