Responsibilities

Position will start as a Benefits Assistant then transition to a Human Resources Assistant role in 2025.

Benefits Assist: Learn & explain open enrollment steps to employees. Help navigate the insurance provider's website. Answer questions about coverage and/or refer to the benefits experts for guidance. Explain payroll deductions & how salaries will be affected. Assist employees with issues and coverage disputes.

HR Assistant: Report directly to the HR Manager and HR Director. Will help screen applicants and verify skill levels. Verify references. Conduct new hire training and orientations. Assist with Unemployment claims (if needed). Help to ensure HR Department is compliant by completing weekly audits. Run labor and payroll reports.

Requirements: Must be albe to translate English / Spanish. Must have at least 3-4 years office experience (prefer HR exp. but not required). Also prefer Associates Degree. Need to be proficient with MS Office – especially Excel.

The essential functions of this role include:

  • working in a smoke free environment

  • working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
