About the Role:

As a GL Accounting Sr. Manager, you will manage a large team that is responsible for providing oversight of the financial performance of clients. You will manage various aspects of a complex global consolidation process, including having primary ownership for preparation of the U.S. GAAP consolidated statement of cash flows. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is coming either direct from public accounting with SEC client experience or has a combination of public accounting and industry accounting experience, including hands-on experience with cash flow preparation in a multi-currency environment and related technical accounting guidance.

This job is part of the Controlling job function. They are responsible for the Management of the organization's financial controls and the preparation of financial reports for management and shareholders.

What You’ll Do:

  • Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.

  • Serve as a point of contact for external audit requests related to cash flow and other deliverables.

  • Interact with internal audit function during the testing of internal controls over financial reporting.

  • Assist with projects in adjacent areas of controllership and financial reporting.

  • Make meaningful enhancements to the process of preparing the consolidated cash flow through effective use of existing technology and standardization of inputs.

  • Address the cash flow implications of M&A, equity transactions, hedge accounting, leases, and other technical areas.

  • Proactively liaise with controllers and finance leaders in each line of business and geography to understand material transactions and other drivers underlying key schedules and reports.

  • Review other consolidated schedules that support the consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures; prepare related variance commentary.

  • Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated statement of cash flows.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.

  • Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.

  • Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department.

  • Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within the job discipline.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting of Finance with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

  • 3+ years of management experience and significant hands-on experience with U.S. GAAP statements of cash flow as either an auditor or preparer.

  • CPA license. Big 4 experience strongly preferred.

  • Ability to articulate to a non-technical audience concise and actionable plans for addressing process or data challenges.

  • Ability to deliver on multiple priorities in a demanding environment with a heavy reliance on manual processes.

  • Experience with OneStream (consolidations) and PeopleSoft (ERP) a plus.

  • Advanced skills with Excel functionality (e.g., macros, Power Pivot, INDEX MATCH).

  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.

  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.

  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.

  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
