Amazon Software Development Engineer, Strategic Risk Insights in Dallas, Texas

Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to join our Strategic Risk Insights (SRI) team. The role will support and implement new solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and leverage data to assist SRI and stakeholder teams to make informed decisions. This role will involve hands-on coding, establishing and managing the pipelines in AWS for deploying and promoting innovative solutions to production, creating and improving the front-end functionality of platforms utilized by SRI and its customers. The Strategic Risk Insights team is dedicated to building cutting-edge solutions that leverage advanced technologies, including Generative AI, to derive actionable security risk insights for our stakeholders and customers.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of cloud-native application development and deployment, leveraging the latest AWS technologies, best practices, and innovative solutions. As part of the Strategic Risk Insights team, you'll have the chance to work on groundbreaking projects that combine your software engineering expertise with emerging technologies. Key job responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient code for the new platform using best practices and industry standards.

  2. Implement and improve data-driven solutions that allow stakeholders and customers make informed, risk based decisions.

  3. Configure and manage the AWS infrastructure required for in support of the Strategic Risk Insights team.

  4. Implement security best practices, including IAM roles, security groups, and encryption, to ensure the platform's compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and operations, to gather requirements and ensure seamless integration and deployment.

  6. Design and implement the complete CI/CD pipeline for the platform, leveraging AWS services.

  7. Monitor and troubleshoot performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure scalability and reliability.

  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, features, and best practices, and contribute to the team's knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement efforts.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

  • Having hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and deploying applications on AWS

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

  • Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
