Fox Rothschild LLP Software Compliance Manager in Dallas, Texas

Description

As a member of the Information Services Department, the Software Compliance Manager ensures software applications or systems software meets technical, and functional requirements while complying to licensing, security, and data privacy requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of purchasing, licensing, and auditing related to software at the firm.

  • Manage a team of software analysts and administrators to handle all aspects of the software compliance lifecycle.

  • Review contracts to ensure that appropriate data privacy terms and conditions are assessed and approved by internal legal teams during purchasing and renewal process.

  • Maintain supplier records, service level agreements, and software license information/updates in firm contract, inventory, and document management platforms.

  • Perform compliance reviews to ensure applications and servers are operating in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Perform routine audits of systems and software to determine utilization and adequacy for demand, and compliance with current hardware and software site license regulations and requirements.

  • Actively communicate with software vendors to discuss products, pricing, support, and ways to improve the overall efficiency of the invoicing process.

  • Review contracts for inconsistencies with clauses, termination and renewal terms and escalate to vendor or legal teams for additional analysis.

  • Evaluate existing workflows and implement changes to improve the efficiency of the purchasing and renewal process.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Other projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • Ten (10) years of purchasing and software compliance administration experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of software upgrades/patch management best practices in an enterprise environment.

  • Comprehensive understanding of security related issues and incidents for be able to address and remediate problems as they arise.

  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies without formal training.

  • Ability to solve problems independently, quickly, and completely and to communicate them clearly to management.

  • Experience in effectively managing projects in a cross-functional environment.

  • Ability to effectively adapt to and apply rapidly changing technology to business needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Medium Work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects 20 to 50 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds.

VISUAL ACUITY

Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
